Dundalk went through to the third round of the FAI Cup following a 1-0 victory over St. Patrick’s CY at Oriel Park.

Dundalk were invited to take part in the Free State League in 1926 having played previously in the
Leinster Senior League.
Dundalk’s First League Title 1932/33
Dundalk FC 1958. The 1950s witnessed further FAI Cup success in 1952 and 1958.

Dundalk FC achieved tremendous success throughout the 1960s including two league titles in 1963 and 1967.
There was also our first participation in European competition.

By 1977, Dundalk had gone 19 years since their last FAI Cup success. 1976 had seen a nine year wait for the
return of the league championship trophy and the wait for the FAI Cup came to an end twelve months later.
The 1970s saw more success as the Jim McLaughlin era began. League titles in 1976 and 1979 proved the
highlight with many exciting European nights and FAI Cup wins in 1977 and 1979.

Alan O'Neill and Barry Kehoe. Dundalk began and ended the 1980s in fine style. The FAI Cup was
captured in 1981, the league title in 1982 and a league and cup double in 1987/1988.

Dundalk FC 1991 - Celebrations
Turlough O’Connor team brought the title back to Oriel Park in 1991 while Dermot Keely secured a
remarkable title win in 1995. However, the decade was to end in disaster with the club’s first relegation.
